BA did extensive enhancement in South Surrey to encourage a return of fish to the area by constructing riffles, overwintering ponds, bank stabilization and by removing debris.

BA used pre–load and base gravels from the river bed which then provided a superior Salmon habitat along the Mamquam River. In cooperation with local school groups, BA used the excavated material to shape the banks of the road where trees and shrubs were then planted as a community project.
