Vancouver International Airport Powell River Airport runway

BA Blacktop completed the resurfacing of the Vancouver International South Runway on September 3, 2004. Reconstructing existing runway electrical and placing over 86,000 tonnes of asphalt in an intensive 3–month construction schedule.

Safety Grid used their Wirtgen to recycle the existing pavement for Purolater at their Vancouver International Airport location in Richmond, BC. BA Blacktop then constructed a hard stand for jets using an innovative cement stabilized base core. This project requires the placement of 20,000 Tonnes of gravel and extensive paving.

BA Blacktop extended both ends of the asphalt runways on time and budget. "Bird dogs" were used to keep the road building crews in constant communication with the airport tower for safety around this active Sunshine Coast airport.
